View the following paintball FAQ’s to help get a better understanding about your IPG paintball experience:

What is MiniBall?

MiniBall is designed for kids, using a smaller ball and lower velocity – it is a safer option for the younger players. MiniBall is available at select IPG paintball centres, check our booking page for MiniBall locations.

Does it hurt?
It really depends on the individual’s pain threshold. When you are shot it makes you want to take cover; it doesn’t make you want to stop playing.

How far in advance do I have to book my paintball game with IPG?
Try to book at least two weeks in advance as all bookings are subject to availability. Your choice of centre and date may not always be available, but an alternative will always be offered. We will however always do our best to accommodate your preferred game date and location.

How many paintballs will I need?
There is no way of knowing how many paintballs you will use, as it depends on how trigger-happy you are. It is entirely up to each person and how much they want to purchase. After you pay for your first 200 paintballs to confirm your booking, you can then purchase additional paintballs at the centre on the day of your game.

What is included in the cost of the IPG ticket?
Entry to any of the IPG-approved paintball centres. All gear, including protective goggles, jersey or combat suit, commando battle pack, semi-automatic paintball machine gun and unlimited gas. (Please note: All IPG-approved paintball centres have full Public Liability Insurance).

How do I book an IPG paintball event with IPG?
Call us on to make a booking.

Can I pay for the initial paintballs on the day?
No. All centres have a maximum amount of players. All the equipment, catering, staffing and game plans are tailored to the number of people booked in to play therefore you are required to pay in advance to secure your position and ensure your paintballs are allocated and waiting for you on arrival.

What happens if I am running late on the day?
It is very important that you arrive on time to receive your equipment, ammunition and most importantly; your Safety Briefing. Some centres will apply a fine to all players that are late. To find out more details about your selected centre, call and speak to one of our friendly consultants.

How many players do I need to bring?
There is no minimum or maximum number of required players – you can bring as many or as little as you like! However there may be a minimum number of players required to open the site if no other groups are booked in for the time and day you request.

Can I play paintball with IPG on a weekday?
Yes, at most centres you will be able to play on a weekday provided that there are a minimum number of players booked in for a session. We will notify you if there are not enough players to open a centre during the week.

Do I have to use all my IPG tickets at once?
You are welcome to use any number of tickets at your convenience.

How can I buy more tickets?
If you want to purchase additional paintball tickets contact your IPG ticket seller – their details should be included on your ticket. If you cannot contact the seller directly, please contact IPG on and we will happily organise additional IPG paintball tickets for you.

How much do the paintballs cost?
At the time of your booking, you will be required to pay for your initial paintballs (100 or 200 paintballs for each player depending on the centre at which you book your game day). This ensures your paintballs are waiting for you when you arrive and you are not waiting in line. Additional paintballs can be purchased on the day of your event.

Can I buy a bulk box instead of the first 100 or 200?
It is a conditional term of the offer that players purchase the initial paintballs (100 or 200 paintballs for each player depending on the centre at which you book your game day) prior to the game day. After this initial paintball purchase additional paintballs may be bought for use throughout the days play.

I was not told about the initial pre-purchase of 100 or 200 paintballs required per person at the time I purchased the tickets.
All customers are required to sign the How it works section on the back of the tickets. This outlines the full extent of the service that IPG will provide. The wording of the confirmation is clear and constitutes a binding contract. Just as we are bound by our service agreement, our customers are bound by their signatures on the tickets. If you do have an issue with this, please call and speak with our friendly consultants.

Can I use the paintballs if a player does not turn up on the day and I have already paid for them?
If anyone fails to attend the event on the date you have booked, the prepayment and paintballs for that person will be forfeited. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

What kind of food and drink are available at IPG centres?
At most centres food is available for purchase throughout the day. Available food varies from centre to centre, and ranges from a BBQ lunch to freshly delivered pizzas, depending on which centre you are playing at. Drinks are available throughout the day.

At what time can we play?
Session times vary from centre to centre. Some centres offer full day packages, while others have allocated session times. Please contact IPG on to confirm session times for your selected paintball centre.

What happens on the day?
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the friendly staff who will check you in. After you have filled out registration forms, you will be kitted out and armed with all the necessary equipment and gear. You will then undergo a safety briefing, after which the action begins! You will play various games during the session, taking short breaks in between to reload your paintballs and discuss tactics!

Do I need to fill out a registration form?
All players are required to complete a registration form before they begin to play. This is to ensure you understand and accept any risks associated with playing paintball.

What do I need to bring on the day?
Players should wear old, comfortable clothing and may also want to bring a change of clothes. The most suitable footwear would be a light boot, but old trainers are most commonly worn. Gloves are available to buy at most centres as are groin guards, but you are welcome to bring your own. You may also want to bring some money for purchasing additional paintballs, drinks or snacks on the day.

May I bring my own paintball equipment?
You may bring your own equipment to the centre, but it is always at the discretion of the Centre Manager whether or not you can use it. You can bring your own goggles, provided they are designed for paintball games and have not been modified in any way. You can bring your own gun or paintball marker, but it is subject to a chronograph test and must be cleared by the Centre Manager as to whether you can use it.

Can we bring alcohol to the centre?
You are not allowed to bring alcohol to the centre. Any players who have been drinking will be excluded from the game and asked to leave the centre.

What happens if it rains?
The games go ahead regardless, in all weather conditions.

My IPG tickets have expired or are about to expire. Can I still use them?
Please contact IPG on to discuss your options.

The centre I want to play at has closed or has not opened yet?
Paintball centre locations are subject to change for reasons beyond our control, and the location map is for guidance only. Alternative venue(s) will always be offered.

My under-age child purchased the tickets and I do not want him/her to have them. What can I do?
IPG tickets can lawfully be purchased by persons of any age – there is no need for an adult to be present. Unwanted tickets can be sold to third parties or given away. If further information is required, please contact the person from whom your child has purchased the tickets.

Are the IPG tickets refundable?

If you wish to change your mind about the purchase of your tickets (unused tickets only) you may, at any time within 10 days of purchase, log on to the following web page, complete the Authorisation Form and return the booklet/s in its entirety – www.ipgnz.co.nz/ra. Refunds typically take 21 days to process and attract an administration fee. If we do not receive your request within 10 days of purchase due to incorrect postage, you may not be entitled to a refund. If there is a change for receiving a request, this will be deducted from the amount owing to you.
